BRIDGET BLY, PH.D. | Head Statistician
Dr. Bly has worked in market research for over 10 years and has extensive experience designing, managing, and presenting a wide range of empirical studies. Bridget received her Ph.D. from Stanford University in Cognitive Psychology with an emphasis on experimental design and statistical analysis. She has developed a number of proprietary statistical metrics for clients, and serves as Rockhopper Research's Head Statistician on all projects requiring advanced analytics.
JULIA BLATNEY | Director of Operations
Julia has provided leadership and direction in project execution and management for quantitative and qualitative market research projects both domestically and internationally. Her knowledge areas include consumer durables, packaged goods, financial services, health and life insurance, medical products, leisure and travel, tobacco industry, alcoholic beverages, and telecommunications.
Julia began her career at The M/A/R/C Group, leaving in 2003 after 29 years. There, a variety of project direction and management positions in telephone and field data collection gave her a strong grassroots understanding of the research process to complement a best-practice perspective to client engagements.
Julia is currently a member of the Rockhopper Research, Inc. team providing overall project direction, consulting, and client support for all projects as the Director of Operations. Her responsibilities include direct interaction with clients and with vendors who provide services such as sample, programming, translation, data collection, data processing, and coding for both domestic and international projects.
DAN DOUTRE | Director of Analytics, Report Processing and Automation
Dan has over 18 years experience in developing, conducting and overseeing all aspects of market research projects, including the production and organization of sales presentation materials for major telecommunication, energy and media clients, including US West (now Qwest), Public Service Company (now Excel Energy) and the Tribune Company. He comes to us after 12 years at Media Marketing, Inc., a software and service organization, catering to the United States and Canadian Newspaper industry. At Media Marketing, Dan filled a variety of study design, project management, data processing, analysis, and report production leadership roles. Before that, he served as a Research Associate for 6 years at Insight Research, Inc, a full service market research company. Dan has a B.S. in Business Administration - Marketing Emphasis and minored in Psychology.
As a member of the Rockhopper Research, Inc. team, Dan provides project management support, develops report automation, and is currently upgrading our overall reporting and design capabilities through his role as Director of Report Processing and Automation.
ANDREW DELLER | IT Services Manager
Mr. Deller manages the IT Services team of Rockhopper Research. As well as being a brilliant programmer across multiple development platforms, he brings over ten years of experience in applying technology specifically as it relates to Market Research as a resource to our clients. Mr. Deller currently manages a team of multiple programmers, and functions as the lead architect for all IT related projects. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems from DeVry University.
BETH MATHESON | Director of Business Operations
Beth provides general accounting, bookkeeping, and business operations support for the company. Her responsibilities include project cost tracking, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and contract negotiations. Beth has over 15 years of experience in business and operations management, in the independent power industry working for GPU International, Inc. During her tenure with GPUI, Ms. Matheson directed the business, accounting, and operations units for their domestic and international power generating assets. In this role, she was responsible for optimizing the value of existing assets, negotiating and restructuring project contracts, asset sales, and internal cost management.
MARY SAMUELSON | Senior Research Director
Mary's primary responsibilities as a Sr. Research Manager include client service and consultation, as well as overseeing the complete execution of research projects from design through presentation of results. She has designed and implemented research in several financial services related areas including banking, credit and debit card, and loans. Mary works closely with teams to ensure client research projects under her management are properly designed to meet client objectives, and completed according to project requirements.
Mary has approximately ten years experience working directly with enterprise clients in the financial services space in developing and running programs for experience measurement at the enterprise and branch level.
With more than 18 years of research experience, Mary brings a diversified wealth of knowledge to her position at Rockhopper Research. Prior to joining Rockhopper, she was Sr. Project Director at Maritz where she designed and led research projects in such diverse areas as banking satisfaction, consumer product package design, financial services customer segmentation, disease intervention and transportation. She has managed both qualitative and quantitative research for large consumer product and pharmaceutical companies, which include branding/positioning studies, customer satisfaction, product testing, and quality of life drug testing. She is also a qualified facilitator with several years experience leading focus groups and triads, and conducting in-depth one-on-one interviews. She has implemented and managed every phase of the research process from study design to reporting and presentation.
Mary completed a B.A. in psychology at Memphis State University and a M.S. in experimental psychology at the University of Memphis. She has also completed the majority of the coursework needed for her Ph.D.
PAMELA HURLEY | Senior Research Director
Pam is an accomplished market research professional with 20 years of successful project management experience, dedicated to delivering top quality product on time and on budget. Pam's expertise includes the design and execution of both qualitative and quantitative methodologies as needed in order to address each client's specific business challenges. She is highly skilled at developing and analyzing cross-tabulations of responses as well as correlation analysis, regression analysis, factor and cluster analysis, and perceptual mapping in order to produce clear, insightful, and actionable executive summaries and reports.
Pam has served numerous Fortune 500 companies in a broad spectrum of B2B and B2C industries; including technology, financial services, health care, education, consumer package goods, apparel, retail, automotive, and travel. Her extensive project experience includes:

LYNN GARRETT, MS | Project Director
Lynn has wide ranging client and supplier side experience in leadership and management of concept, design, development, multivariate statistical analysis & modeling, quality assurance and reporting of marketing research projects. Her unique range of knowledge includes the telecommunications, satellite television, travel & entertainment, and consumer packaged goods industries.
After receiving her MS degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Lynn began her career at GTE (now Verizon) where she provided primary leadership for the 1995 Telecommunications Industry Customer Opinion Survey (TICOS). Additionally she was project manager for the Market Sciences Group providing client side direction for numerous projects through various marketing research firms. After 5+ years at Verizon, Lynn became project manager and then Manager of Analytical Services for the Totterdale Group where for 6 years she provided a wide range of research, analysis, and consulting to clients such as AT&T Long Distance, Cingular/AT&T Wireless, Dish Network/SNTV Group, Anheuser-Busch, and RJ Reynolds Tobacco.
Lynn is currently a member of the Rockhopper Research, Inc. team — providing project consulting, and client support as a Quality Assurance Supervisor. Her responsibilities include data processing, multivariate statistical analysis & modeling, quality assurance and reporting for both domestic and international projects.
MIKE TAYLOR | Research and Technical Services Manager
Mike joined Rockhopper Research in 2008 after starting his career in market research as the Senior Project Manager and Research Director in a startup research agency in Beijing where he oversaw all market research operations for 3 years. On the Rockhopper team, Mike contributes programming skills and expertise, technical support, providing key input on project design, quality assurance and personal knowledge of the Asia Pacific region.
His international knowledge areas include automotive industry, insurance, personal electronics, advertising, consumer packaged goods, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages as well as traditional media and branding. Mike speaks fluent Mandarin Chinese, is highly proficient in Japanese and has an international education composed of schooling in the United States, Japan and China in the fields of Computer Engineering and Linguistics. Mike is currently located in Beijing, China to expand the global reach of Rockhopper Research.
